As of December 1, 2021 ALL clients are required to be Covid-19 vaccinated & boosted. Please email or text me a copy of

your vaccination card or show proof upon arrival.

If you travel out of state, I ask that there be a 7 day

waiting period before your next appointment.

Awaken Your Body Massage & Bodywork was closed for several months due to Covid-19 safety concerns. At the end of July 2020 I was approved by the Marin County Health and Human Services Department to return to work. This decision was based on the fact that I work alone with one client at a time, as well as the type of work that I do, which is primarily structural, postural, working with clients who were originally referred to me by physical therapists, chiropractors, orthopedists, etc, post accident, post surgery or suffering from acute or chronic physical discomfort.

I have reviewed and I follow safe operating procedures suggested by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards, CAMTC (California's Massage Permit Council), ABMP (my liability insurance company), as well as other sanitizing and Covid-19 safe operating information.

The following is a list of my safety protocols:

In Studio:

Before your appointment:

  • I will have a new intake form that everyone will be required to fill out before your appointment. I will email it to you so you will have time to take care of that. It must be returned before your session.

  • I will require proof of vaccination.

Upon Arrival:

  • I will schedule more time between appointments to allow for disinfecting the surfaces, as well as for “social distancing” purposes.

  • You will be required to wash hands or use hand sanitizer immediately prior to your session.

  • Once inside the studio, please remove shoes.

  • I will provide a clean, disposable face mask for use during your session, if needed.

  • I will also have hand sanitizer, should we need it.

During Session:

  • I will have a silicone face cradle protector over the face cradle, which can be wiped down/disinfected after each client.

  • I will ask you to wear your mask throughout your session. I will be wearing one as well. Masks must remain on and covering both your nose and your mouth the entire time that you are in the treatment room and the waiting room area, even when changing into and out of clothes. When face down, you have the option to remove your mask, instead breathing into a pillowcase (I can demonstrate for you in the office).

  • My massage oil and lotion are already in single use distribution bottles, so they are safe.

  • Linens are professionally and safely laundered.

  • The air purifier will be on all day and the filter changed periodically.

  • I will have a Molekule UV Air purifier in the treatment room. This a quote that was emailed to me from them:

“Also, Molekule’s PECO technology has been demonstrated to capture and destroy        airborne viruses, including testing of proxy viruses for novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-      2) and influenza. While we have not tested on SARS-CoV-2 specifically, Molekule             devices do meet the performance criteria recommended by the FDA guidelines for         use in reducing exposure to SARS-CoV-2 in healthcare settings. That said, no air             purifier can promise to prevent you from getting a virus. We strongly recommend that     you review information provided by the CDC and other official sources for information     and resources related to COVID-19.”

Between Sessions:

  • All soiled sheets will go directly into the laundry service pick up bag, which will be stored by the front door.

  • The face cradle will be completely wiped down.
